Lenten Observances and Practices

The Season of Lent began with Ash Wednesday and ends with the start of the Paschal Triduum on Holy Thursday evening, April 2. Traditional Lenten practices of prayer, fasting, almsgiving, and self-denial are encouraged. Ash Wednesday, all Fridays in Lent, and Good Friday are days of abstinence from meat for those 14 years and older. Confessions will be available before and after weekend Masses and during Eucharistic Adoration.
