About

St. Andrew, the brother of St. Peter and one of the Twelve Apostles, was a humble fisherman who became a missionary after Pentecost. He preached the Gospel throughout the Black Sea region and suffered martyrdom in Patras, Greece. Today, his legacy lives on through St. Andrew Church, a vibrant Roman-Rite parish located at 435 Anton St, Bridgeport, CT, within the Diocese of Bridgeport. The parish honors the apostle's example by offering daily Mass, sacraments, and various ministries that serve the community. Through liturgical celebrations and charitable outreach, the Bridgeport community strives to bring Christ's love to all, inspired by St. Andrew's call to be 'fishers of men.' As the patron of Scotland, Russia, Greece, fishermen, and many other groups, St. Andrew's feast day is celebrated on November 30. St. Andrew Church continues his missionary spirit, providing a welcoming space for worship, reflection, and service, and is committed to living out the apostle's legacy of spreading Christ's love and compassion to all.
