St. Monica Church, situated at 1321 Middletown Ave., Northford, CT 06472, is a thriving Catholic community that invites all to experience the presence of Christ. With roots tracing back to the St. Monica mission chapel, established on June 7, 1953, the community has grown under the guidance of dedicated pastors, including its first, Fr. Steven G. Vitka. Elevated to a full parish in September 1964, St. Monica Church and parish hall were completed in 1978. Today, as part of St. Ambrose Parish, alongside St. Augustine in North Branford, the community is led by Fr. Joseph Arel. The parish is committed to spreading the Gospel, nurturing sacramental life, and catering to the spiritual needs of Northford and its surroundings. It offers a range of spiritual activities, including daily and Sunday Masses, CCD classes for children, and special liturgical events like the Holy Triduum.
