IMPORTANT: The Mystery of Holy Anointing will be served on Great and Holy Wednesday, March 27th, by the end of the Liturgy of Presanctified Gifts. The Church’s practice of anointing with holy oil for the healing of soul and body dates back to Apostolic times, when St. James wrote, “Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the presbyters (priests) of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.” (James 5:14) Those who wish to receive this Mystery should ideally approach it after having made a recent Confession.

We will not have our regular Coffee social, but instead we will have many delicious bake goods for purchase. Please participate in this parochial fundraiser. Also, as we are preparing for Pascha, please come and help to clean up our church and get it ready for the feast of feasts. Clean up after the Liturgy on Saturday, March 23, from 11:00am to 1:00pm. Please continue to pray for peace in Ukraine, for the end of war, for our sister churches and clergy, safety of people, and especially for all those who defend country against russian aggression. Parish Catechism will take place today Feb. 25, after the Divine Liturgy. All are welcome to stay for the class! Next class is on Sun., Mar. 17. Please update and/or submit to Fr. Pavlo names of the deceased members of your family, so that we can pray for their souls during All Souls Saturdays. 3-d All Souls Saturday: Divine Liturgy followed by Panachida; Sat., Mar. 2, at 10:00am. Reminder: Strict fasting (no dairy and meat products) on Great and Holy Friday on Mar. 29. During Great Fast faithful are especially called to pay extra attention to fasting, giving alms and praying.
